River Tours and Gorge Excursions

Ride the Current to
the Great Falls
and the Deep Gorge

Dgg Niagara welcomes you to Cornwall, Canada, where the mighty Niagara River rushes past our docks before bending toward the great cascade. Since 2014 our guides have carried more than four hundred thousand guests into the thunder of the falls and the quiet corridors of the gorge. Step aboard a vessel of our nine-boat fleet, feel the spray rise on your cheeks, hear the roar roll off the rock walls, and watch the mist climb into the daylight above the basin. Whether you come for a ninety minute crossing, a two hour hike, or a private evening charter, the river meets you with the same unbroken power it has carried for millennia. We run our tours in every warm season and through the frost of winter, and we hold a rail seat in your name between sunrise and last light.

Six Ways to Meet the River

Signature Gorge Experiences

Every departure is captained by a licensed guide who knows the currents, the rock, and the weather of the gorge. Choose the pace that suits you, from a quiet evening drift to a full-day expedition. Six distinct runs follow the same river, yet each one reveals a different face of it, and our fleet is scheduled so that something is always on the water when you arrive at the dock.

Falls View Boat Tours

The classic crossing, launched from our Cornwall dock and running straight for the gorge lip. Guides slow the engines as you slip into the basin below the great cascades, where the mist closes in and the spray vaults past the deck rails. Keep your camera dry and hold the rail, because the thunder is unforgettable. As your vessel holds position in the churning pool, the guide points out the seven distinct stages of the descent, recalls the daredevils who once attempted the drop while sealed inside steel drums, and times the exact moment the wind shifts to bring the full plume over the bow. It is the tour that earned our reputation in 2014, and it remains the first choice for first-time visitors.

Gorge Hike Excursions

Stretch your legs on routes that follow the stratified rock walls of the gorge. Walk beside swirl-pools, listen for the calls of herons above the channel, and pause where the rain arc bends over the water. A moderate two-hour trek that ends back at the dock, where cold drinks wait on the pier.

GH

Whirlpool Jet Drift

For the adventurous, a tight pair of jet-driven vessels carve figure-eights through the live-fast channel where the current coils into a whirlpool spiral. Expect spinning maneuvers, abrupt turns, and a drenching you will laugh about all week. Life jackets are fitted and certified before the first throttle is pulled.

Evening Illumination Cruises

When the sun drops below the gorge rim, the falls light up in colour and our dinner cruises glide out for a slow pass beneath the spectacle. Warm blankets, hot drinks, and a low amber deck glow make this the most romantic window of the week. Reserve ahead, because these sailings sell out every summer evening.

EI

Winter Festival of Lights Runs

Even in the cold months the river refuses to rest. With the festival of lights strung along the bank, our heated cabins run evening shuttles through the frozen spray, where ice feathers cling to the rail and the gorge breathes a quiet white mist. A magical contrast to the summer chaos of the current.

Private Charters and Group Bookings

Wedding parties, corporate outings, family reunions. A private charter turns the whole vessel over to your gathering, with your own skipper, your own audio, and your own itinerary on the water. We arrange catering, seating, and flags on request, and we have carried groups from eight to eighty without a hitch.

The river does not allow shortcuts. Every turn, every eddy, every standing wave is earned the slow way, through years of watching the same water rise and fall. Our guides carry that patience in their hands at the wheel, and we would not have it any other way.
